Introduce about Unruly Heroes
The storyline
Since the formation of human life and civilization, Buddha used the Bible to keep a balance between Heaven, Earth, and living creatures, allowing them to live together in peace. But it wasn't long before the wicked demons began to grow, breaking the delicate balance, tearing the Bible to pieces and scattered everywhere. This event has led to many unfortunate consequences. The creatures that possess the piece of the Bible to inherit power arouse inherent wickedness and become monsters.
Facing that chaotic situation, Buddha gave this responsibility to a young monk named Sandmonk. He will meet with three disciples and begin his journey to find the lost scriptures again. Challenges await them. Will you accompany them on this arduous, difficult and dangerous journey?
Gameplay
Unruly Heroes is a classic 2D platformer game, so its gameplay is easy to understand. Although it is judged to be quite similar to Rayman Legends but to be honest, they are just the same in terms of mechanism of action and have completely different experiences. You will start playing as Wukong, after which you will gather three others, Kihong, Sanzang, and Sandmonk. They are all playable. You can switch between them by tapping the avatar icon in the right corner of the screen. Each of them has unique strengths and abilities, and this element sets out the unique traits of Unruly Heroes. In other words, their abilities must be used at certain points to solve the puzzle and pass the level.
Each level has three goals that you need to complete. The first is to collect coins. The amount depends on the level required. The second is to find pieces of the Bible, which are often hidden away in a map or locked in an area you need to find a way to open. And finally, the time factor, you have to complete that level before the game time runs out.
At first glance, these requirements seem easy, but they are not. Obtaining items, in general, takes quite a bit of time. You have to check every nook and cranny, break secret walls or surrounding wooden crates, or even out-of-bounds.
Sometimes I have to replay the same level repeatedly and try to play in a "try - false" style. That helps me discover many things. It is figuring out how to solve the puzzle in the level and pass the level faster to score the best achievement.
Meet familiar characters in Journey to the West
In Unruly Heroes, the four main characters are named after the original Chinese names. The first is Wukong - who is known as The Monkey King. He was born from an egg on top of a mountain, possessing 72 kinds of magic. That makes him a great character to roleplay and play. In fact, that's true because Wukong is very fast and strong. He can even perform a double jump in the air.
The second is Sanzang - a man from a monk background. Only because of a small mistake was that he was banished to earth, he goes with a group of Wukong and requested sutras. Sanzang can use his necklace to attack opponents and activate some things for you to overcome obstacles. In the end, he is the one with the highest jump ability in the group. You can take advantage of this to climb high terrain on the map.
Kihong - one of the most interesting and loved characters on the TV show. Although he has the appearance of a fat pig, he can attack opponents in a wide range. Kihong can inflate his body to keep himself flying in the air longer than the others.
And finally, Sandmonk - the leader of the group. According to the original story, he was unarmed. Unruly Heroes has shown that when he can only attack opponents with punches. Sandmonk is the most lethal in the party, and as such, you can use him to smash walls and or solid objects along the way.
Intellectual challenges with interesting puzzles
The purpose where Unruly Heroes incorporates a special ability for each character is to integrate puzzles. If the game is just a regular platformer game, gamers wouldn't want to "hook up" to download it. The addition of puzzles makes everything more interesting to conquer.
Although the puzzles are not of high difficulty, they will test your patience. Why? Because Unruly Heroes has the element of time. The game will stop when the timer runs out, and you have to play it again. Most of the puzzles involve finding the hidden switch to unlock the room containing the castle. But sometimes, unlocking a room is done indirectly, not directly through a switch. You need to keep this in mind, at the same time, learn the abilities of the characters, exploit and combine them to solve problems.
Stunning graphics
The four worlds in the game are beautifully simulated. Therefore, the graphics of Unruly Heroes are very remarkable. Images are hand drawn completely, bold art. From windy high mountains to dangerous swamps, even from hell to dark places on earth. You will also be transported to a wonderland with stunning views, and that's when you can immerse yourself in it.
Besides the beautiful scenery of the Bible collection journey, there is music, sometimes intense, sometimes soothing, changing with context. Maybe not, they won't make you flutter, but they also add more flavor to the journey. The characters in the game are equally unique.
